The others Gateway sites are
The original 8 steps of recovery ( externally hosted )
"Isaiah 61 Men" based on the prophacy in the book of the Prophet Isaiah Chapter 61
that the Spirit of the Lord would be on the Messiah
And "Aussie Survivors" written for a general audience to assist survivors. Originally to document Sexual Assault Services in Australia
It grew to include a new concept "A Grid of issues"
Nathan is a Graduate of Sociology from an Australian University where he wrote essays in Sociology, Anthropology, History and Media from a Christian perspective. From the transferable concepts and skills he acquired he has progressed from knowing basically nothing about child sexual abuse ( his own memories locked away until they first surfaced in 1997 )
And nothing about Mandatory Reporting or Child Protection Policies to being able to develop these sites which will hopefully assist adult survivors of sexual abuse. He is developing wider perspectives seeing the need for recovery from sexual abuse for adult survivors and for female survivors though he feels this needs more than simply changing "he" to "she" in sites for female survivors. There is also a need to assist trauma survivors recovering from any traumatic event.
As Nathan progressed in his own recovery whilst participating in survivor groups, he soon realised that the dynamics of sexual abuse, the impacts and the road to recovery has many variables, varying in sequence and intensity. The aim of the site is to accomodate individual paths to recovery. The cost has been that the interconected sites and sub domains look excessively complex and overwhelming. The next stage is to simplify the navigation. The aim is to show the array of issues for readers to select the relevant issue or process at the time. The site is not designed to read your way through
But to brouse looking for what is helpful at the time
And return when other issues are more important.
